Description of the destination
Covasna County is located in the center of Romania, in the Carpathians bend, in south-east of Transylvania; the historic name of the county's is Three Chairs. Covasna County borders Harghita, Vrancea, Buzau and Brasov counties. Its area is about 3705 kilometers ², with 5 towns and 40 communes. The seat of the county is the City of Sfantu Gheorghe. The City of Targu Secuiesc is called "the city of guilds", Covasna – the city of 1000 springs, Baraolt. In this county there is also Intorsura Buzaului - the coolest region of Romania.
The most important regions in terms of tourism are Covasna and Balvanyos, beautiful and attractive areas, with carbonated mineral water, bicarbonate, chlorate - sodium, hypotonic and hypertonic. Covasna resort is known internationally for the beneficial effects of cardio-vascular therapy. The area offers many possibilities for trips and excursions, the cities located within the radius of the county enjoying impressive buildings and special cultural events.
