Description of the destination Aninoasa

Aninoasa is a commune in Dambovita County. It is located only a few kilometers away of the old citadel of Targoviste, seat of the county, center of culture and civilization.
The commune contains 4 villages: Viforata, Aninoasa, Săteni and Valea Sasului.
Aninoasa is one of the oldest villages in the county, being mentioned for the first time on April, 29 1453. During the reign of Vlad Calugarul (1482 - 1495) the village was lost "in bad vicleim" by the grandfather of Hamza Turcul, being given to a close friend of Miclo. His wife and son sold it to Neagoe Basarab (1512 - 1521) who gave it to Metropolitan of Targoviste. The village was then reinforced by the numerous princes of Metropolitan seat.
Since the fifteenth century, in the village area there were many famous vineyards, which gradually came into the possession of the Metropolitan seat.
In the late nineteenth century the village was famous by large quantities of quality wine produced in the surrounding hills and the plain side of the village is producing large quantities of maize. In 1907, the village was filled with rebellion’s fire; about 200 villagers went to city hall and demanded land. In the early twentieth century began the coal mining. In 1928, the mine in Aninoasa produced 1000 tons of coal monthly.
The school was founded in 1838, with the teacher Ion Ogrezeanu.
In the area of Aninoasa village, visitors can see two monasteries:
- Dealul Monastery
The first construction of Dealul exists since November, 17, 1431, but unfortunately the first building is gone, being replaced with another in time of Radu cel Mare. After its rebuilding, Dealul Monastery was an important royal necropolis, fulfilling this role since 1508, date of burial of Radu cel Mare, founder of the church. Then there were buried in this monastery Jupanita Caplea, Valdut voievod, Radu Voda Badica, Vlad Inecatul and Mihai Movila. In 1603, in this monastery was brought the head of Mihai Viteazu, foully murdered in Turzii plain.
- Viforata Monastery
It is another old monastery, rebuilt several times during the centuries. We know that was built by Vlad Inecatul in 1530.
An important moment in the history of this worship place is the reign of Constantin Brincoveanu.

The area of the village is very beautiful, Aninoasa being situated at the foothills of sub – Carpathian hills, with a temperate continental climate. The village has 3 kindergartens, 3 dipensaries and 3 community centers. The main occupations of the villagers are: fruit growing, viticulture, anibreeding oil extraction and processing.
